Arthur D. Mouton
Arthur D. Mouton practiced law, under the firm of Wm H. Mouton (PLC), with his father, WmH. Mouton (until his death in 2002) and his brother, William Hugh “Billy” Mouton (until his retirement in 2012). Mr. Mouton joined Davidson Meaux “Of Counsel” at that time.
He is a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) where he majored in History with a minor in Economics. He attended Tulane Law School for three semesters until “voluntarily” joining the United States Army in 1969. After Basic and Advanced Training, he was assigned to the 3d Squadron 3d Armored Cavalry, Ft. Lewis, Washington, where he served as Courts and Boards Clerk and tracked vehicle driver (M577A1) for that unit until his discharge in 1970. He had been promoted to Specialist Five (SP5 – E5) and was awarded an Army Commendation Medal upon discharge. He then enrolled at LSU Law School as a Junior and received his JD degree in 1972.
He began law practice, at that time, with his father (Wm H. Mouton) and brother (Billy Mouton)as Wm H. Mouton Law Office. With that firm he did extensive Oil and Gas Title work with such companies as Chevron, Gulf Oil and others, Estate Planning work including Wills and Trusts and Succession Law and Real Estate closings. His Oil & Gas practice includes both company and landowner representation.
He and his wife, Cathy, have three children and seven granddaughters. His hobby is Ham (Amateur) Radio with his call letters, K5FNQ, which he has held since 1960. He operates mostly by Morse code and has communicated with stations in almost all of the countries and islands throughout the world.
